New Year’s Eve Lenten Table Menu

Hello everyone,

We are approaching a New Year holiday which always falls on the last week of Nativity Lent for those who celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January according to Julian calendar.  By “those” I mean Russian Orthodox, I know you guys are out there already looking for some fresh ideas for your New Year menu.  I would like to share my New Year menu plan, the one that is sophisticated and elegant, yet simple and easy to cook.

New Year’s Eve Menu

How about we start with lavender cured salmon avocado toast that perfectly pairs with a glass of champagne.  For the main dish, we are going to have cod poached in elegant basil lemon sauce and French green beans on a side.  For dessert lets have a mouthwatering orange cake! It’s hard to imagine New Year without a big bunch of mandarins under the tree and delicious citrus smell of the mandarin rind that sprinkles all over you, filling you with sheer childish holiday joy and Christmas spirit!

So, let’s get started!

Jump to:

  1. Lavender cured salmon on avocado toast
  2. Cod poached in a basil-lemon sauce
  3. Irresistible French Green Beans in a creamy sauce
